Cries of help are heard from Charlie when Sikes attacks him, causing the police to break in, though Sikes doesn't intend to be taken alive. Oliver returns to the workhouse under the safeguard of the Maylies and Mr. Brownlow, where the true identity and agenda of Monks are exposed, the Bumbles are held to account, and the true identities of both Oliver and Rose are revealed. And after Monks' attempt to destroy all trace of Oliver's true identity, will Fagin finally come good?
When 9-year-old orphan Oliver Twist dares to ask his cruel taskmaster, Mr. Bumble, for a second serving of gruel, he's hired out as an apprentice. Escaping that dismal fate, young Oliver falls in with the street urchin known as the Artful Dodger and his criminal mentor, Fagin. When kindly Mr. Brownlow takes Oliver in, Fagin's evil henchman Bill Sikes plots to kidnap the boy.
